At Kanjeru Girls High School, we believe that the key to success is a combination of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to personal growth.
Elite High School was established in 2017 by a group of young South Sudanese returnees from
Kakuma Refugee camp, who believed in the power of education to transform the society, with
the aim of providing quality education to the local communities, which were lacking educational
facilities after the independence of South Sudan in 2011.
With two decades of civil war, many children were out of school, there was concentration of
students in the early grades, a high proportion of over-age students, repetition of years and
dropout levels and low overall quality of educational provision, all these challenges, give young
returnees an idea to use education as a fundamental tool for a positive community
transformation. They later made a micro-group saving to achieving their dream. They then
started school with only one block that had four classrooms and twenty-eight (28) students.
Despite the limited resources, the founders were determined to create a positive learning
environment.
Over the years, the school evolved gradually, adding more classrooms and other facilities. After
the end of the Covid-19 Epidemic era, our school has grown into a well-respected educational
institution in the country. The school also began to participate in inter-school competitions
within and outside the country, further enhancing its prestige.
Today, our school is renowned for its academic excellence and nurturing prowess. It continues to
uphold the founders’ vision, shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Elite High School is one of the
most converted schools in South Sudan, Africa and indeed, Globally in the provision of quality
education.
Our school offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities and programs to enrich our students' lives.
From sports teams to clubs and community service projects, there is something for every student to get involved in.
We have recently renovated our campus with state-of-the-art facilities, including sports fields for football, volleyball, and basketball.
These facilities provide our students with ample opportunities to stay active and engaged outside of the classroom.
We believe in fostering a strong sense of community, and we encourage parents and community members to get involved in school life. We offer regular events and volunteer opportunities, and we have established partnerships with local organizations to provide additional resources and support for our students. Our campus has also been outfitted with security cameras to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff.
